Röhm, the clamping and gripping specialist located in Sontheim an der Brenz (Baden-Württemberg, Germany), generates over 60 percent of its sales with customized clamping solutions that are developed specifically for its customers. The company will be focusing on this expertise at the AMB 2024 show in Stuttgart (Hall 1, Booth 1D31).

“Our primary concern when serving all our customers is to optimize manufacturing processes, where the reduction of set-up times is a crucial factor. At the AMB show we will be providing an insight into how this can be achieved using our solutions,” says Gerhard Glanz, CEO of Röhm GmbH.

Thanks to Röhm: Reduced Set-up Times and Part Costs

“Application-specific, multi-part set-ups” are some of the magic words in this context. In Stuttgart, Röhm will be showing customized systems with four- and six-part set-ups to demonstrate how they can speed up processes in the factory. “Obviously, if our customers can process four or more components without having to change over clamps, then the end result will be a noticeable increase in productivity. And that’s exactly what they want. Our engineering and manufacturing know-how makes us the specialist for customized clamping technology,” says Hans-Peter Weit, Röhm’s Sales Manager Germany and Austria. “This knowledge enables us to develop and deliver customer-specific clamping devices that have the ability to solve almost any clamping requirement, no matter how complex,” adds Weit.

Additional exhibits, such as a swivel chuck with centrifugal compensation for clamping of large bushings in the oil & gas industry, a quattro clamping tower equipped with vises, and a 6-jaw chuck with centric compensation, provide a further insight into Röhm’s repertoire of application-specific solutions. An 8-way clamping device that is suitable for use in electrochemical machining (ECM) and an independent chuck with four sensor-equipped iJaw clamping jaws for measurement of clamping and machining forces during manufacturing will also be on show.

High Level of Engineering Competence

“In Stuttgart we will be demonstrating that our solutions are as varied and diverse as our customers. Over the past 25 years we have developed more than 1,000 customized solutions for clamping and gripping applications in the automotive industry alone. And we have thousands more in the mechanical, and plant engineering and tool making sectors,” says Gerhard Glanz. Customers around the world consistently benefit from Röhm’s high levels of engineering competence and vertical integration.

High Standards

Röhm has a clearly defined goal: it must be possible to realize even the most unusual solution for manufacturing-related component clamping and gripping. “Our technology can clamp or grip any component, regardless of how complex the shape is or how delicate the component is. We can integrate this technology into any machining process – no matter whether it is manually operated or fully automated,” says Thomas Roth, Röhm’s Head of Business Development.

High Degree of Acceptance

Many major mechanical and plant engineering companies around the world list Röhm as their standard supplier for drill chucks and lathes, centers, robotic gripping technology, or set-ups. All these products are known for their exceptional combination of sturdiness, precision and intelligent force and motion control. “Most of our technology focuses on industry-specific customized solutions. So I am extremely happy to have the opportunity to show some of them in Stuttgart,” says Glanz.
